New player, is there a general consensus for leveling?

I've seen rvr mentioned a lot but I'm mainly referring to the earlier levels. I've tried a few different classes in scenarios and rvr but it never feels like I'm actually contributing much and I feel like I shouldn't be queing for a scenario at level 4-5. I might just be missing something though? What's a good level to get into rvr/scenarios?

Also does anyone know where I could find just a quick synopsis on the classes in the game?

And the scout/recruit medalions and emblems, Is here a way to get them besides rolling need in a pug when they pop up?

Lastly once I get into tier 2 am I gonna be facing the same issue of not really feeling like I'm contributing much due to the levels, not having certain abilities or does it mellow out after tier one?

I just started actually playing today though so as I said maybe I'm just missing something

Just get in the RVR lake from level 1. Join a public warband and the exp + renown will flow.

The medallions drop from enemy players, unless you manage to get a lot of killing blows it's far more efficient to be in a group. Emblems are from playing scenarios.

Not really sure what you mean about "contributing", it's difficult to say without knowing what you're playing!

I've just been doing my rounds honestly haha. I like sword master so far. Marauder seems okay. Also tried warrior priest. Not really sure how I feel about it. Maybe it'll pick up later. All in all I've tried a few things, but without gear or anything I just don't feel like I do much on any of them. I was hitting a knight for one damage at one point, he was level fifteen in full platemail. Dunno what it was but, I couldn't hurt him. At all. He was actually tanking six or seven of us though so possibly not just me.

Is there a more AOE oriented class in the game? I think it's really what I'm looking for.

Grinding Mobs is the fastest exp per hour, but comes at the cost of not getting pvp progression.
Some people prefer having rr40 in t2 before they hit t3, and some people just want to play the highest tier asap.

you want to kill mobs as high level as possible... and champions if you can (their text name looks slightly different)

Oh and you'll get rested XP by logging out in a Warcamp, which increases the rate of XP gain.

ranged aoe classes - wizard, sorcerer, magnus, engineer
mele aoe classes(more or less) - marauder, choppa, slayer (few others can do some here and there)

I disagree. Killing mobs that are too high of a level dont reward as much xp as mobs on your level, you can also kill mobs on your level faster and with less downtime (except WL, the lion is broken and grindind as WL is super easy so go hit some challenging champions).

well if you reahc lvl 4 you will ahve impact on the scenarios, just buy the equip form the vendor for those levels and stuff gets better. just should take a few scenarios to get there.

The little hint is: zonehopping. get tot the first RVR camps (they all have the zone flight spots), grab the kill X players missions, fly ot the next Tier one zone grab the same missions, fly to the next one and grab the missions there. Now you have 3x kill 10 people make one or 2 scenarios and deliver and retake them. after a short while lvl 5? or 6? you get the second repeatable kill 25 palyer missions, and now with zone hopping you have 6 missions with nice XP an money payout to do between the scenarios.

levels quick, brings some nice money.

If you can't "hurt" some classes they may have some shields active consuming dmg first.
