Hi all,
i'm now playing as a Marauder, really fun.
Of course i need to know something about builds
- i know, reading aroung, that Monstruosity is for AOE and useful especially in wb or party / savagery is for single target dps. But why brutality isn't considered?
- renown: what need? melee crits sure, then? Weapon skill? Str?
- talisman: as renown, what have to take?
- last: which skill are "must to have" for a mara?
I think a Mara, like a choppa, should do a lot of aoe dps but, maybe, i'm wrong. So can explain me how play with it?

Some people do change Gift however.
While Savagery do less raw dmg than Brutality. It has more debuff.
MOnstrusity allow you to last long enough against most class in 1 vs 1
Brutality has raw dmg, not very useful in 1 vs 1 nor in gp battle when debuff> dmg

In my opinion, Savagery tree is the way to spec more for single target purpose. For the simple fact that has maybe the strongest debuffs in the Destro side. Thunderous Blow will debuff over 120 wounds, best opener. Cutting claw will open their armor like a tin can, Tainted claw a must in combo with Deadly clutch tactic: not only a 50% heal debuff but will heal you for the amount prevented.
Then guillotine in brutality, great finisher.

P.s. terrible embrace will come anyway in T4.
For the Renown that changes a lot, as the talismans, depending on what you are looking for and your party composition. Parry and dodge/disrupt are more defensive, crit and str/ws offensive. Same for talismans. If you go str/ws you will do more damage, but you will also be squishy. Wounds are my favourite, and don't forget that you will bloom in t4. There, IMHO, the Marauder becomes the most badass mdps in the game.

In case you didn't figure it out yet, there aren't multiple 'competitive' speccs for other classes either actually. If a class can decide between 2 speccs, then thats about as lucky as you can get. Pretty much every class has one or mostly two paths that simply are completely obligate to go into.
The perspective for mara as you call it.. well the class is simply op with what it has with this single specc and I am not sure how to adress this in the future, but we'll see. Maybe Kings Own still hires monstro Maras :^ )

That's not the case personal skill and rotation will decide how effective you can be. Also the renown specs carry allot. Being on the front line so much I find I get focused by lots of people. I said before "single target" Mara. You can play aoe Mara as well, utterly different if you are in orvr or pve grinding.
Actually, my marauder is also my goldmine when I farm arena, but the aoe damage at the moment is not THAT great. Pretty sure things will change in t4 With Piercing Bite, tactic that allows your abilities who require mutations to bypass target's armor by 50%

Do I understand correctly, that for AOE mara STR stat will not be efficient, but Weap Skill, cause i heard somewhere that STR stat applies with 50% power to AOE damage skills?
