Ah, I remember that. There's additional context further up in the chat box.

Which, I might add, supports the OP's argument. If we were able to post actions publicly, then I would have posted the entire chatlog.

So, Shanary says "T4 confirmed" in /3, then Sea gets exiled for an hour over reason "Annoyance" with no context...

There's something missing here ;)

Me seriously asking what you patched? That hardly adds more context. I have the whole thing screenshotted just can't access my PC right now. Not that it matters a lot, I really don't have any reservations towards the staff. More transparency is always nice though

If I would feel like I deserved it I wouldn't post the screenshot here. There was no additional context aside from me asking what exactly he patched. It is also possible that he confused me with someone else. As I said I have additional Screenshots that I can post in ~2-3 days

The fact that many people are worried about the bans probably means something. In any MMO i've played i was never worried about bans, i figured they were all justified and helped the game/community. Not here. I got banned myself for a whole week for a name violation. He did this after i didn't reply to his wispers. Ask anyone in my guild, i tend to not respond to wispers quite often when i'm afk ^^
This was months ago though, hard feelings are long gone ;)

Ah, yes.

If I recall, the gist of it is that I'm in the middle of a difficult situation trying to fix some bug causing people to log in dead, and you test my patience too far by making a T4 joke after I explain what I'm doing.

Yeah, I remember now, and I stand by it.

The number of cases appearing in this thread, including the one that's been outlined against me, are just further evidence for me that we need transparency, for the sake of the GMs as well as the players. Transparency might even make us think twice about the severity of our reactions, especially if (as in your case) the players can see that someone got banned for not issuing a response, when the only rules about responding to GMs indicate that you must respond if your character is taking actions in the game world.

The saying "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" remains as true as it ever did for me. People need to be held accountable for their actions - including, as it seems, me.

Increased transparency sounds great going forward.

An aside, banning actually sends people to one of the moons?! Did Mythic create that zone just for bans? And how much can one see there? Is it possible to move around?

Transparency is indeed, in my opinion aswel what is needed.
I dont know if anyone knows the Genesis freeshard , for the dark age of camelot game.
Every ban receives his own forum thread. The reason and length of the ban is included.

People are stil able to respond to it, perhaps work it out if the GM saw something wrong. Usually bans will stick, but sometimes, having the ability to respond is needed.

Just a thought ;)

There's only one sure way to find out... ;)

On a serious note, I was expecting a huge "Hell naw" from the management, I'm glad to see my predictions were wrong :)
Looking forward to seeing this being implemented one way or another.

Another point I'd never even considered. Excellent stuff. ;)
