[SH] Dual Wield?

According to my in-game tooltip the melee weapon is calculated, even when using ranged attacks.
Can someone confirm this?

From my experience, no... at least not on a ranged class... but it's best a dev answers your question.

We had that question a few days ago. All abilities use both weapons for calculations. Exceptions are SH and SW where the DPS-weapon is ability dependant

engineer also, melee skills got contribution from melee weapon, ranged skill from the rifle

Its a bit mixed up for ranged abillities. I know some gets dps bonus from both while others only from one or the other. I think this was done intentionally on live to slightly boost. Assault SW and Tinkerer Engie.
