2) You have characters in Tempest Wolves.
3) Do not shift the blame onto the developers of this project.
1. My apologies, didn't get to say my piece before it was locked. Just saw other thread.
2. Not sure how that hampers my viewpoint, but Yes, as a friend, and as diplomat. I tried to help this guild get off the ground in an effort to promote more NA activity.
3. I think both parties are to blame if a peaceful resolution was not the conclusion. But in the case of the GMs, even if you feel justified in your decisions, it ends up affecting the community at large.
I can simply lock this thread and you guys will just have to deal with whatever ends up being implemented.

I mentioned your guild association because the tone of your post was ostensibly neutral, even referring to TW in the third person. I expect neutral posts to come from genuinely neutral parties, and if I see a neutral-looking post that has a slant to it, you can be sure I will be researching the author.

I feel you're still shifting the blame. This is all over a 3 day ban applied to one person, which has long since expired, and if the rules had been changed before the incident then it would indeed have been worse. We will not compromise on rules regarding respect for staff for the sake of population or anyone's ego, and we will not be chastised for failing to do so.

Maybe i don't get the point of all the drama, but:

That guilds morale was destroyed and so they shrinked because their leader couldn't login for three days :?:

Maybe I was misinformed, but this 3 day ban to their GM I was told actually lasted longer (5+ days?), which was more or less a "final straw" for him. Additionally, another officer, their PvP organizer, was also banned. The guild was cut at it's knees.

Again, you certainly have the right to exercise power how you see fit, but I'm trying to drive home that you've made a political decision that affects others, and by extension, this server, and me.

I would disagree with this statement. Enforcing rules is not a political decision. Failure to enforce a rule for a given party that did in-fact break one, would be more of a political decision.

One of the reasons this is getting blown out of proportion is because a lot of people don't have a complete picture of what happened. So here goes:
Said person taunted me personally by saying "I'd like to discuss Nazis from a historical perspective" after being told to lay off the Nazi crap. When confronted he said he can ridicule Germans for all eternity because "they **** up in WWII".

Now, do you still want to defend this person?

Who's OP now & The Savvy raiders have allianced together to bring more coordination to the ORVR lakes during NA primetime hours.
We will be hosting ORVR wbs + sc premades after our wbs wrap up.
Still we are actively recruiting , active + skilled players are pref , but all are considered.
We use Gamevox for our alliance comms.
Feel free to hit me up in game if you have any more questions!
WAAAAAGH!
Voice comms is required upon joining. Used to use ts3 ( still hold a channel usable ) but gamevox will be main as of today.
Philcolins - blackguard
Babool - zealot
Bcsaoe - sorc
Bcsfinest - magus
Luciie - witch elf

As incredible rightly points out, enforcing the rules differently based on such considerations would have been a political decision. This is not a political decision. We cannot be blamed for a guild's collective response to a sanction - THEY choose that response. We are not forcing them to make that choice. I find even the slightest suggestion that the staff should enforce rules differently based on how valuable or not a player is considered to be to the server very troubling indeed, and I would go so far as to label such a stance as supporting injustice and corruption.

Yes, and I regret that they've made that choice. The point I have to reinforce is that THEY made that choice, not us. It is only natural for certain types of players and guilds to attempt to apply pressure to the staff in order to be treated differently. I want to use these early cases that we encounter while still in alpha (and there was a very similar one a year ago which some people may remember) to illustrate that no matter what, we will not treat anyone differently. That way, future players will know that this is how we do things around here and they will not attempt to call cases in the past where we've relented, unjustly, because of political considerations in order to get special treatment.
