Paul Barnett is your best bet. He is one who would travel to GW headquarters in Nottingham UK. Before wasting their time, its important to come to them with solid business plan. They will require complete IP control over warhammer art (Any additions, modifications, deletions, must be cleared with them). (EA will have to bless the deal also).

GW will also be concerned about bunch of yokels diluting their brand. Its important to show you are organized and have traction (How many people are interested in the revived game).

I don't usually post on here but I have to say that I know you are trying to help but I wouldn't send anymore emails.

First off, if too many people play this game you can bet your a$$ GW will want it shut down. Primarily because warhammer 40k EC will be in direct competition with this game. If people play this instead of War40kEC, regardless of the amount of people, it is in competition and they will request that it be shut down.

Next, nobody is going to leak source code and destroy his/her career over this. Given the current economy I wouldn't imagine anyone would ruin his/her reputation to leak this code so that a few hundred could have fun.

Who would we pay with kickstarter money anyway? GW, EA? How much do you think they would want? I'll tell you, however much EA lost producing it and a silly amount from GW.

Lastly, learn patience and respect the people who have worked hard to give you something. Otherwise start your own server and bug the hell out of everyone just don't associate yourself with this project. Ever stop and think that ROR Devs could make it super private and only playable through invite? We are lucky people will take the time and make something like this and allow complete strangers to register and enjoy this game. So much childish inconsideration went into that email.

Maybe some good spirit have backup of server part of application
Yes, I think so too. Some ex devs of Mythic have the source code. With security! But I could bet my ass!
Everyone dev takes the source code with if he goes. :D

Let us find the last developer. It was just one more, I think.

This thread is going nowhere, and frankly it shouldn't.

Bottom line is that we, as fans of WAR, do nothing without the permission of the devs, and even then we leave it to them, anything less is disrespectful to their dedication.

As stated before by so many, whoever thinks this is a good idea is an idiot. GW and EA will never give up what is theirs without a fight or a serious amount of money. This of course, presuming hell has frozen over beforehand.

The kind of money required to buy the rights to a game like WAR is immense and would even make the fools at Kickstarter blanch, it's simply never gonna happen.

Never do this again please, you jeopardize so much.

This.
The amount of money would be insane. At the moment Sega/The Creative Assembly holds all rights for creating warhammer fantasy video games. Considering that GW sells these rights in a five year rhythm (like with EA/Mythic), it will take some time, to have the licence available again.

Just to make it clear that "the game" and "the licence" are completely different things:
Sega bought Relic Entertainment (Dawn of War series) from the bankrupt publisher THQ. They bought everything regarding Relic Entertainment, but couldn't buy the Warhammer 40k licence, because the owner is GW. The moment Relic was sold, the licence was lost.

If you write to EA/SEGA or GW don't speak about the server.

"do nothing without permission of our devs"

Respect their works and players community

For me the most important thing is to have a place for fans and players of Age of Reckoning, i hope to see the game completed but i don't want to see GW and EA in da place with their boring commercial strategy; fast food MMO (look at what happen to warhammer tabletop, GW feeling bad, and opinion of fan/players are not welcome).
Warhammer develloped by fan is a long task but it could be really great.
