Re: [Warrior Priest] - Grace
I remember lvl 40 whit around 350 toughness you were nice so why the new set i think we will gain more survavility but against high dmg class like sorc i dont know if we will be more safe xD !

Against Sorcerers, you're fairly buggered. I've got a screenshot of a Sorcerer facerolling about 4000 damage in the span of two seconds. With 4300 health base, any wounds debuff means I'm killed almost instantly. Either I have a guard or am very consistent with the detaunting, which falls off dramatically with more Sorcerers that are smart enough not to let me detaunt them all with the AoE.Bignusty wrote:I remember lvl 40 whit around 350 toughness you were nice so why the new set i think we will gain more survavility but against high dmg class like sorc i dont know if we will be more safe xD !
Unwavering Faith and a Spirit resistance potion cuts into their damage, but that's a tactic and potion slot taken up just to deal with one class, which will still put out considerable burst damage anyway.

They are daft if they aoe detaunt then smite lolAzarael wrote:Issues I've heard about with AoE detaunt so far:
- Salvation priests abusing it
- 100% uptime
A longer-term solution to this which kept the AoE detaunt might consider linking it to Strength/Willpower ratio rather than weapon type and adjusting the cooldown, but that's a little more inconvenient to implement as the present code just invokes Intimidating Repent outright.
The other thing I'd like to note that very few people are bringing up is that Smiting people breaks the detaunt.

Re: [Warrior Priest] - Grace
It's the fastest and most efficient way to build RF. Unfortunately, like a lot of AoEs, you have little control over who might get nicked by the edge of it. If you're drained for RF and need to heal someone in a hurry, you're not likely to have the time to reposition and measure range to ensure you don't also clip people you've detaunted. Assuming you even have time to think about that, in the first place.Toldavf wrote:They are daft if they aoe detaunt then smite lol
Re: [Warrior Priest] - Grace
Have to way your options then at that point but it is entirely up to the player. A melee warrior priest shouldn't have this problem to be fair.ThePollie wrote:It's the fastest and most efficient way to build RF. Sometimes you can't weigh your options. I've had more than a few occasions where even an instant response wasn't fast enough, let alone if I had stopped to consider the ramifications of my action.Toldavf wrote:Have to way your options then at that point but it is entirely up to the player. Then go ahead and heal if you'd rather but be prepared to be punished for it.ThePollie wrote:Sometimes you can't weigh your options. Re: [Warrior Priest] - Grace
Not a matter of 'rather', it's the point of the job. And I never said anything about not being prepared for the cost, it's a matter of not having the time to consider it. Somethings happen in this game at such speed there simply is not skill or intelligent thought that go into what you do. You simply react and whatever happens, happen.Toldavf wrote:Then go ahead and heal if you'd rather but be prepared to be punished for it.
The question now is if Smite should break Detaunt or not. Frankly, I haven't given it any thought until now.

Smite is fine as it is - merely pointing out the interaction.
Re: [Warrior Priest] - Grace
Thepollie, do you run grace in premade? Judging from the problems you are describing I get the feeling you dont. We have a dedicated Grace WP in the guild (sanctified) and he is doing just fine in sc's. Getting focused by sorcs single target damage is a problem for every order career atm.
But lets be real, you pretty much have nothing to fear from destro mdps and tanks, destro needs to have a counter to deal with melee WP and thats ranged. You can aoe detaunt ranged and request a short but timely guard from your tank friend whenever the need arises.
I can imagine that if you run solo it is pure hell doing sc's sometimes though.
