Warhammer Age of Reckoning vs Return of Reckoning

Hello everybody,

So as you can obviously tell I'm new to this board and site and I had a few questions that I was hoping some of you could answer. I stumbled upon this site and the fact that it's hosting a private server while reading up on Warhammer: Age of Reckoning and finding out it was unfortunately shut down a few years back.

I'm just curious exactly how close in content Return of Reckoning is compared to the original? Another question, from my understanding the focus was mainly on PvP/RvR, is that still the case or is there a decent amount of PvE content as well?

Thank you all in advance for the help.

Also before I forget, I just want to commend the people involved in this project on being able to keep the game alive and from what I gathered from the homepage, add updates to it which is just astounding. Well done all around!

RoR is.... I guess you could say in a way a spiritual successor In the way that it is the same game but the devs have been or will be fixing broken and bugged tactics that were never fixed on live and also will be making balance changes down the line when we get to t4

Rvr and sc's are still very much the core of the game and what devs have been working on thus far to fix but now that we are in t3 the devs have fixing pve content such as pqs and dungeons on their priority/to do list

So welcome back to the never ending WAR :)

The devs of ror have already shown more dedication and have put forth more effort than any of the origional Warhammer devs. Furthermore, they do all of this for free and out of their own pockets. It may take awhile for the rest of the content from retail to be released, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

While you wait for t4, feel free to get an alt or 5 up to lvl32 and rr40.

Same:
Warhammer Age of Reckoning and Return of Reckoning both allowed addons like nerf buttons.

Difference:
I think the developers of WAR don´t care alot about the game. I don´t know why developers of RoR allow addons of this kind.

It's impossible for us to disallow them, at this time. We do not have control over the client, which would be required to remove the functionality NerfedButtons implements.

Thank you all for the replies, I'm quite enjoying the game so far! Playing a Chaos Chosen at the moment, really like the feel of the character :). Keep up the great work everyone!
