Re: Scenarios - getting rid of leechers.
Why on earth should I give the opposing realm exp, renown and crests on the absolutely lost scenario? And more importantly +deathblows on Dammaz Kron!

The worst part is that, when i pug, i only fight premades. And when my guildies log in and i finally have a premade of my own, i only fight Pugs in SCs.Halhammer wrote:Depends on time of day and the class you play. I'm puggin like 80% of the time on my engi, you can still do well on rdps classes (or healers). Sometimes the overall SC comp is a joke, and you run into 1 or even 2 premades. That's life.
But yea, I wouldnt't pug on an mdps/tank at this stage.
Been like this 2 nights in a row already. Both situations end up being boring (for both sides too, i bet).

Arranged 6on6 is the answer.Penril wrote:

We are almost there! I think we finally have our 6-man. Just need a couple more nights playing together. But if this group stays active (damn real life) i can see us doing 6v6's soon.Nanji wrote:Arranged 6on6 is the answer.Penril wrote:

Premades fight pugs, and incomplete groups fight double premades. I have only had a couple experiences where I fought a premade with a premade.Penril wrote:

Re: Scenarios - getting rid of leechers.
Unpopular opinion, but I've always personally believed that once you press that "Queue" button, you have a moral responsibility to do your best for the next <15 minutes, whether you win or lose. Maybe it's something I picked up playing sports as a kid, but if you don't do your best, you never get better. Even when losing - perhaps especially when losing. Trying your hardest even when you're losing forces you to think of new ideas, and change they way you're playing. Sometimes that pays off.
Yeah, that's no fun and we're all here to play a game and blah blah blah. Whatever. I've long since learned that there's no forcing good sportsmanship. On the other hand, I don't see any reason to implement a system where one can just skip out of any SC they aren't guaranteed to win. If you're going to sit there and not contribute, you can sit there for the full <15 minutes.
Anywho, just a rant and an unpopular, personal opinion.
As a side note, the matchmaking system is something entirely under our control, and can be changed. The trade-off being that a more "considerate" matchmaking algorithm often fails when there just aren't enough people queued. One idea we've been playing with internally are scenarios you can only queue for as a group, like a 6v6 EC, to remove some premades from the larger queues filled with PUGs. We can also make the system require X of each archetype before it will build the SC instance. Just some ideas we'll be testing in the future, and as usual, no promises.

Because if you're in a situation where you're asking that question, well, they're going to get those emblems and that renown anyway. You might as well try to make them earn it.Scrilian wrote:Why on earth should I give the opposing realm exp, renown and crests on the absolutely lost scenario? Re: Scenarios - getting rid of leechers.
Make a few 6 vs 6 sc, and that's it. 6 vs 6 NW, 6 vs 6 GoE, etc.

Re: Scenarios - getting rid of leechers.
I think that any system with purpose to kick someone after being idle or something will not fulfill its function. Giving an option to people to leave the scenario also isn't a solution- 1 person leaves, everyone leaves, opponents are left 6v0.
I would leave matchmaking as it is. You have no chance fighting a premade when in a pug but that's something you have to get over it and as Genisaurus says you should fight to the end no matter what happens.
Good to hear you are trying to balance scenarios somehow though but to be honest I don't see a solution here. In WoW they did the following: matching premades with premades. Walkaround: full pre made queues solo and joins the same match anyways.
Maybe matching people by their archetype would be a good idea but what with healers playing as dps and so on?

Re: Scenarios - getting rid of leechers.
My premade and another Destro premade joined a scenario last night, Tor Anroc, and we had them outnumbered 12v8. Instead of coming at us and getting smashed, or just sitting in the spawn, the other team jumped down into the lava and fought from the rocks. This made us come to them, and we actually ended up losing. So, instead of being a quitter, like some have mentioned previously in this thread, they overcame the situation and prevailed. Total props to them!Genisaurus wrote:Unpopular opinion, but I've always personally believed that once you press that "Queue" button, you have a moral responsibility to do your best for the next <15 minutes, whether you win or lose.
