I disagree. There's a lot of emotes in the game, they're funny and allow you to show almost any variety of emotion and what you think about your enemy. In roleplaying and non-insulting fashion.

I like community and all, but the cross faction talking is a bit too friendly in my opinion. For rival banter its okay, but if it turns this game into Chathammer...No thank you. This was brought up once before.

Disagree because there is no fun in pvp with locked chats. Your opponents rage is the bread and butter and no way in taunting your enemy without a proper chat.

I fully agree that written text in all public channels should stay exclusive to your own realm. I just see no point in /whisper chat being the same.

At this stage in the game, I would personally support your proposition. Whisper chat is cumbersome enough to avoid Chathammer while preserving necessary collusion (for testing, etc.) However, Telen's points would still be valid if, in the final game, you were able to PM the opposite realm. It would be used as a vector for butthurt and rage. A certain element of dehumanization is a good thing in games like this, and being able to communicate with the enemy breaks that.

Tee-hee. So next time order side will see something like dead talk in Ultima, but instead of "OoOOoOOoooO oOooOoooOooOO" it will be "WAAAAGH WAAAGH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"? (=
