Re: State of the Realms (A Community Discussion with the Dev
Would there be a way to make the rewards based on a ratio of attackers to defenders? To prevent x-realming screwing this up could make it that it either only counts people in the area for a certain amount of time OR using a rolling average (over time) for the ratio.

Re: State of the Realms (A Community Discussion with the Dev
It may not come as much of a surprise to people, but I don't think PvDoor and PvEing keeps in general to be worthy of great reward.
The problem with that logic is that keeps are designed so those things are the goals. The people who focus on the objectives to allow the keep siege to be successful ...

Re: Question about being DDoS'd

Re: Question about being DDoS'd
How would he get caught? DDoS are nigh impossible to trace. How would he get stopped?
It depends on what the starting point of the attacks is. If it is a botnet, you probably will not find the creator. If it is an individual spoofing their IP or whatnot, you may be able to trace it with enough ...

Re: Question about being DDoS'd
Soo.. what happens if the hardware being used to DDoS the server is capable of running indefinitely?
Depends on the type of DDOS attack. If it is from a botnet, then until related virus gets removed/patched from all the computers on the botnet. If it is from a single computer (or small network ...

Re: Information about what could be happening;
I've owned many servers in the past, including a few world of warcraft private servers. honestly it has a lot of the symptoms of a DDoS since i was online most of the times when the server went offline.
Kinda agree here. I was playing before the server went down, as an IT Security guy IRL, the ...
