Inquiry about Donations/Funding for the server.

I've actually talked with a few friends of mine about this, and I have also spoken with alot of people in seperate guilds who are seemingly willing to fund/donate for the sake and prosperity of the private server to the people that have willingly put hours into making Warhammer Online (Return Of Reckoning) available for people to play ever since shortly after the shutdown of the official servers .
For these efforts I therefore ask; Would these kind of donations be accepted as recompense if players are infact willing to pledge for the sake of the game, and if so; How would you guys go about accepting these kind of donations? If at all? or ever? =o
With the playerbase peaking at nearly a 1000 players (920 today I believe) I can only assume the server upgrades are just going to start becoming more and more expensive to apply and keeping up.

Might I add this is coming from someone who listened to people I used to play with pledge 5 digit sums if not more to complete-fiasco projects such as Star Citizen or Dayz Standalone (Dayz being a game I play alot and have uploaded alot of Youtube videos of) being probably some of the biggest prime examples of misplaced faith when it comes to living up to customer expectations and failing horribly to do so.
I like to have faith though, and I am one who's willing to place it in this private server =)

They should "let us in" to the dev team so we can spend our money for "our" server. You see what I did there?
In this way its not donation.

Or if someone just starts a 'Man I wish Warhammer!' appreciation society, organises events, t-shirts, etc.....and then gives the money to ROR? =D

interesting -
I'm of the opinion they should be paying me for playing here. I haven't formally submitted an invoice yet... but i've definitely been tracking my billable hours.
