Return of Reckoning

So i see a lot of people saying that Crippling strikes sucks because it doesn't stack with Challenge. Yet they don't consider the following:

1) Sometimes you are the only tank in your group so you cant have Challenge up 100% of the time
2) Rotating Challenge with another tank while soloing/pugging can be impossible
3) Sometimes you have enemy mdps in one place and rdps in another one so it is really hard to challenge them all at the same time

And finally, what made me post this thread in the first place: AoE damage? (this is where i ask a question because i am not sure). We know bomb groups are the FotM currently (not saying they are the best setups; just saying they are popular right now). Challenge only lasts until your target hits you 3 times. So my question is: does AoE damage count? If you get magnet'd by an engie and receive tons of AoE damage from your enemies, would that remove your Challenge on them? If so, then Crippling Strikes is indeed useful and not as bad as many people claim.

(yeah, i should know by now if AoE damage removes your Challenge guess i have never paid attention to that)

Pretty sure it was part of the reason why people wanted to tie guard and shields.


Title misleading? You're asking about AoE damage which I think breaks Challenge yet you're giving your opinion on Crippling Strikes.

Some times you face an ID spec slayer and he cleanses himself a few seconds after without realising what he just did

Problem is you can't get Quake and and Crippling Strikes at the same time in T3. T4 is a little different but most people opted for the knockdown instead.

Quake = stagger
Downfall = kd

same point cost tho
