You could just buy a new one from the vendor in the warcamp.

Unfortunately the new weap doesn't include the blue tali I proc'd last night, nor do i earn enough medallions to simply replace the piece of Devestator that disappeared, also with the other blue tali I proc'd.
Excuse my tone Magicthighs, it's been a damn frustrating evening of gameplay: nothing personal mate. Cheers!

I agree it sucks, gnash, my reply was addressing the "I can't fight because I don't have a weapon" part of the post.
I personally lost my staff and shoulders (4 times in 5 days) on my BW, T1 set boots and scenario weapon on my WH, scenario weapons (plural) on my IB, T1 chest on my slayer, and more gear than I can remember on my engineer so far. The only items I ever got back after a restart were the staff and slayer chest. I know what it feels like, it made me not log in for a few days a couple of times. But remember, this is an alpha phase. People need to stop treating it like it's a finished product imo.

Upshot: You're absolutely right, myself included.
Downshot: time invested in this phase, currently, feels like the same time invested in live, finished product minus solutions to these challenges. My misconception extends from the belief that since it is alpha phase, once a thing is known to have a negative effect on player morale, providing a fix is relatively easy to implement (I'm not a dev and so don't know what that means regarding irritating and time consuming challenges like disappearing gear) then it ought to be fixed, i.e. one's gear disappears, one makes an in-game appeal and said gear is replaced so we can move on with more important matters that provide a swifter avenue to the desired goal: a product more in line with our definition of finished.
Since I don't pay (and a HUGE thank you to those who provide me this privilege!) yet must reinvest the same time to earn the same return, my alternatives, imo, are suck it up (which I feel I'm doing too much of recently) or stop playing (and that thought makes me nauseous).
