hi i want to ask are the meeles bad if they fight against a ranged class ? if i play my squig herder i just run and shoot the meeles and they cant even touch me i kill them with full hp. or if i play with my black orc and fight against ranged i lose hard i cant even cast the ability "Where you going?" because even for this they are too far away or do i something wrong i dont play very long ?

Yes thats how it is, melee has a distinct dis advantage vs ranged though their are tools to combat that in later levels

If as a tank going agaist a ranget enemey one of the things you can do is channel hold the line for the increased dodge and disrupt chance and try to get close to them to kd or snare them so they can no longer kite you as well

the whole thing rises and falls with who and what classes you play. if you have a decent shaman he can always slow-puddle the kiting rangers. if you have a WL he can punce and charge a ranged to keep him shortly slowed until the other melees/tanks arrive too. as a ranged you have only easy play if your enemies do not know how to counter play and abuse the terrain

Yes, melee are pretty much gimped in this game vs ranged in 1 on 1, but thankfully the game isnt about that.

If your gonna try and fight a ranged class on melee 1vs1 ambush is important you must have the first hit or your chances of killing him are none existent.

there is a tons of situations where is melee >> ranged:
In close quarters (inside keeps or at some SC like Gate of Ekrund)
Cast Flee and drink AP pot
Renown passive: speed on damage (not sure if it's working here) or Odjiira (after LotD will be opened)
Charge (all MDPS ability) with snare immune
Pounce (WL) or Pull (Mara but at 40 lvl only)
Slow potion
Juggernaut (clean all snares) for tanks
Hold the line (for shield tanks)

So, in most cases, melee will kick your ass easely, if they are geared well and know their and your skills.

Az already said ap pots will not work during flee to prevent abuse of the ablilty to be a qusi charge like you could on live
