Hy there,

Did anyone try to buy the original game with all stuff from EA/Mythic? Is that possible? Does anyone know the aproximate price?

Maybe ask GW for a license? Like a true businessman!

you would also need to buy a license for warhammer from games workshop and they probably won't give you an unlimited lisence, more likely one that is active for a couple years, that alone would cost a fortune

you'd probably need a least a few hundred thousand just to purchase a temporary license which is likely billed monthly/quarterly to your pockets. I might be very conservative in price too, i would imagine EA spend millions maintaining it.

So thats the question. Did anyone try to ask the license? What would be the approximate price? 10 000 a month, 100 000?

i dont see the facepalm here, its a legitimate question, there ARE millionaires or even young billionaires out there who might want to play this game and for a billionaire some millions ord 100k per month are nothing but peanuts. ...

Well IF there are millionares who were willing to play this game, they could hire a complete 100 man staff to recreate the game in the first place? hurrdurr

Anyone with that kind of money has no interest in throwing it at a failed game.

As philanthropy goes, there are far better outlets than that.

but that comes with a lot of work. paying a license and giving these people here the permission to do it, is a single task. And man i have seen billionaires doing much weirder stuff

For shure there is a reason why such a giant as EA with its financial and human resources refused to continue. But it could be a business reason (the game had small revenues or didn't have at all), or a personal. or a creative reason... They didn't invest in it - no new servers and few new content. But we'll never know why. If you know the costs of the game you can calculate an approximate financial model. But untill you have it you cant say its impossible. Asked GW, lets see if they answer.
