Help! Game was working, not anymore.

Hi, I registered and played the game for months with no problems, but now after a few months of inactivity (about 2) I can no longer log in. The game is till installed (haven't touched it), my login info hasn't changed, I definitely can't be banned, web works, the launcher comes up, both login and web servers are green, the website shows the server online, but when I click connect, nothing happens. No error or anything. It just doesn't open the game anymore.
The fact that literally nothing has changed on my end and that I don't get any error messages, makes it pretty hard to pinpoint the cause of the problem. I am out of ideas.

Hi,
I just witnessed the same problem. Most people will recommend waiting a while to connect to the server...while others say connect, close, and re-open until you load into the server. For me, it took several attempts to reach "handshaking" inside the game and now out of no where it says "the authentication has failed and must terminate".
I do know the launcher has a bug of some sort that doesn't allow a player to connect without several attempts.

Thanks, I managed to get in after several attempt. But it is still more annoying than anything else. And since several people have this problem, something should be done. An error message or at least something written at the Latest News that explains this, because right now it is literally encouraging people not to event try logging in.

Become a part of the GM team and help the great people that make this game playable AGAIN with out any monetary gains then.

Easier said than done, lol.
There's a lot of trusted people around already willing to take on the job, but it's always up to the devs to decide who gets to be a GM. It's a real tricky selection program for the devs, since they need to trust the people they give GM to to the absolute fullest.

I'm not saying it's easy, it's not easy to run this server either and keep someone posting when the server is up and when it's not and post the news on this forum as well, it's usually posted on twitter or facebook and if OP used his/her congitive capacity he/she would've read the news (I think it was the latest news post I.E it's the first post on the front page) and realised that most of these minor announcements (minor updates, server problems/issues and such) are posted on the RoR social medias, writing a forum post where you start complaining when there's a twitter post literally saying; "DDOS just in time for the weekend! Going dark for a bit, NA primetime cut short... Don't log off! The Game servers run fine!" is just pointless whining.

First post on the front page has been some gold exploitation in the last couple of days. And even if I roll down and see DDOS posts, I am just someone who planned to play WAR. What the hell do I know of DDOS or whatever it does? Is that a requirement for playing? And relying on other websites for news when there is a perfectly fine website is just silly. When I plan to play RoR I check the RoR website not twitter, facebook or whatever else.
If that is what's causing this problem, then maybe the top post on THIS site should be something like:
"Why logging in might not work:"
And bellow the short explanation. Then I guarantee there wouldn't be so many people asking about the problem.

Hi Walrius.
Well, i'm come back from Holidays!
About DDOS attacks, on the last month, each days, we had something like 2-4 attacks. We can't tell when it happens, how long it will be, and certainly not play to the up and down post hour after hours.
The fact is that when it happens, none is able to reach the webserver, so we can't post, and you can't read. Twitter and facebook are the only solutions to inform the communauty in this case.
If you don't know what a word means - like DDOS for example -i think search on google could be a good solution, RoR isn't wikipedia. You can eventualy use, the search button on this forum ( but sadly, it seems to be totally useless, 99% of connection troubles posts are the same and are already resolved. ).
Proof :
DDOS ATACK :

CONNECT :

On the other hand, you expect to find on the top n°1 post the answer to YOUR problem. For an other, it would be anything else, and another... but there is only 1 top post...
So my conclusion now.
You can complain, no problem with that, but please, don't blame us for your lazyness.
Yali.
