So I have changed my password so it is all lowercase and no numbers or weird letters and it still gives me invalid username or password.

I changed it yesterday on the site, can it take a while to reflect on the game or is there something else I am doing wrong?

Takes time for your password to change on the game server, the forum is usually immediate. Sometimes it's hours, other times it's days. If you don't have any characters made yet, a new account is the fastest method to get back in game.
