Return of Reckoning

I managed to download the game by direct download, and it seems to connect and launch ok. But all I get is a single tone, like the first note of the intro music and then this screen with a load of empty black menu boxes.

Any idea whats wrong?

That's a new one. What have you tried already?

Not a lot really I'm at a bit of a loss.

As far as I can tell the menu is there. For example if I click on the black box on the bottom right it exists the game, and if I click on the settings box I get another black box pop up that I assume is the settings menu. I just can't see the options.

I'm not sure what the likely cause is so I'm not sure where to start. Is it possible the installation is incomplete and some of the graphics elements are missing?

Without error messages, I'll say yes. Things are possible.

Visual Studio 2005/2008 redists, DirectX 9.0c, corrupted game files, bad graphic drivers. Take your pick. Once it's outside of normal error messages we're at a loss as well.

Does the game folder have to be on the C: drive with the windows directory to work properly?

I installed it on my expansion drive to try and save disk space.

It can be placed anywhere, the WAR folder doesn't attach to Windows at all. The RoRLauncher.exe does all the work.

Hmm! Then I'm still lost as to whats causing the problem.
