[CanvasWarband] Real time drawings on Map for Warband Leaders and Solo Players

- It allows the Warband Leader to draw lines, arrows, or paths directly on their map. These drawings instantly sync and show up on the map screens of everyone in the warband in real time.
- It's perfect for helping new players—just party up and draw their route.
- if you're playing solo and get lost, you can easily mark an NPC on your map for yourself!
- In game a Simple HUD when you open the Map and you can drag it anywhere
Who can use it?
- Solo player (drawings appears only to him)
- Leader Only if in Warband: All warband members can see what Leaders draw, Only the leader can draw to prevent trolling and map clutter.
- No Extra Server Needed: It runs 100% inside the game
Why use it?
- Instead of shouting "Push the left gate... no, the other left!" over voice chat, the leader just draws a red arrow on the map. Everyone sees it instantly and pushes together.

Does this work only if everyone viewing also has the addon? Do the drawings stay between log-in sessions? If it’s saved is it per character or account?

Yes other members must download the same addon, All warband leader drawings will appear real time to all warband members
you as a warband member u still can clear the drawings if u dont want to see them
and no drawings wont stay between log-in sessions

This add is removing wb, party, sc and scp from my filters from all of my tabs, also added /8 which I have NEVER had on. Tried restarting game, clearing cache and relaodui. fixed once I disabled this.

Yes, it messes with all of my chat tabs. I edited and added them back and they would disappear again with seconds. How does it communicate to other players? Using a chat channel?

Yes, it sends its drawing data through normal party/warband chat. To hide those packet lines for addon users (it cannot hide them for anyone else) it changes the party, warband, scenario, and scenario-group filters in every chat tab, turning the real filters off and using its own /7 and /8 mirror filters to replay normal chat. It keeps reapplying that while enabled, so manually restoring the filters gets overwritten.
Not the way I would have done it: its cleanup only properly restores the original group-related filters, not any pre-existing /7 or /8 filter/color setup. If it is interrupted before cleanup runs, the client may be left with badly altered chat tabs.

So, it takes party and warband off the chat tabs. Aren't those 2 kind of the most important ones while in a party or warband?

It disables the real party/warband display filters to hide its drawing packets, then copies normal party/warband messages back into the same tabs through /7 and /8 mirror filters. So the chat remains visible, but through substitute filters. At least that what the addon code aims to do, I havent installed or tried it myself.

Very interesting. At one point there was a dedicated chat command or channel that could be used to send notifications to other players and was intended for use for add-ons to communicate in the background (don't ask me what it was, I've long forgotten the arcane secrets of this game!). Might be worth poking Sulle on Discord to see if anything is still available to save you from needing to hijack the normal chat channels.
It would also mean that those who do not have the addon won't see the packets in WB chat either.
