Help advise Moonstone ring choice

Hey guys,

I'm crafting Moonstone rings for both my Chosen and Kotbs and I'm wondering what is the optimal metal choice to have the most resistances in most situations in oRvR. For large scale battles in oRvR I also assume most dps classes will be AoE specced and a frontline tank will always suffer AoE damage in oRvR/Keep/Fort pushes. If a ST dps is focusing the tank it's probably that I'm the last one alive/horribly out of position/clueless dps. I'm not too worried about off-spec dps like dps SHAs/AMs/ZEAs/RPs since they aren't as frequently encountered as other rDps. These are my thoughts, feel free to share yours as I'm not an expert on all types of damages/classes:

- Kotbs

Iron: Gives armour points. As a tank wearing full Sovereign armour you have over 4200 armour points, another 178 armour points seems less impactful then increasing magical resistances.
Platinum: Gives the same number of resistance points. IMO the best choice, you're equally resistant to everything.
Copper: Gives more corporeal and less of other types of resistance points. Most of the corporeal damage comes from Sorcerers, a lot less from SHs.
Silver: Gives more spirit and less of other types of resistance points. Most of the spirit damage comes from Maguses, but Sorcerers also deal a substantial amount of spirit damage.
Gold: Gives more elemental and less of other types of resistance points. Most of the elemental damage comes from Maguses.

I would say that while spirit damages is dealt from both Maguses and Sorceres they primarily deal their other respective types of damage. This is just a "gut feeling" but while both are encountered in the oRvR I think Maguses are the more popular class. On the other hand I'm always surprised by the amount of damage a well positioned Sorcerer can do. I'm assuming WEs don't deal as much AoE and aren't that big of a threat in situations mentioned before. Copper/Silver/Gold all seem alright.

- Chosen

Iron: Same as above.
Platinum: Same as above.
Copper: Gives more corporeal and less of other types of resistance points. Most of the corporeal damage comes from Engineers, but BWs also deal a substantial amount of corporeal damage.
Silver: Gives more spirit and less of other types of resistance points. I'm not sure if any "classic" Order AoE rDps does substantial spirit damage?
Gold: Gives more elemental and less of other types of resitance points. Most of the elemental damage comes from BWs.

SW also deal corporeal and some elemental damage but with a tactic they can bypass resistances. Engineers are encountered everywhere, but again I respect BWs damage output more. Same assumption for WHs as WEs. I think either Gold or Copper as the 2nd ring option would suit Chosen best.

I'd say all of that is reasonable and makes sense.

If you can farm three, iron may be worth it for the rare occasions where running the resist aura actually makes sense.

if you run magic resist aura permanently then you'll probably hit soft cap as bis gear with just + 59 all magic resist on your both ring.

wich mean you can have double copper, double gold or double silver and get +120 magic resistance overcap of your choice and then it will help in case you get resistance debuffed.

for example on my 2h kotbs i have this, gives me +120 elemental res in case i got debuffed by magus, shamans, zealots or just the chosen aura.

you can translate the same pattern if you want spiritual or corporeal overcap, regarding what you find on the lakes.

can also run both platinum for more spreaded and balanced overcap.

I'm only interested in Moonstone rings since I want to maximise block chance during oRvR fights. But your suggestion sounds interesting for 2h tanks.
