2H Ironbreaker (CR 24/RR 24) - Feedback on Solo/Small Scale Rotation requested

Hi everyone,

I'm playing a 2H Ironbreaker. My goal is to be strong in 1v1 situations while still being useful for my group. I want to be an independent "fortress" that can eventually kill the enemy.

Here is my current plan for blocks and rotation. Please let me know if this makes sense for a Level 24 IB:

I have a mouse with 6 side buttons (on mine, F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6) and a scroll wheel with right and left click (F7, F8, and Alt + F7 and F8). Then Q, E, R, T, F, G, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

F7 - Oath Friend & F8 Guard: Always active before the fight starts. Oath Friend on the Healer, Guard on the person taking the most heat to act as my "Grudge Battery."

Q - Axe Toss: Used while approaching the enemy to start generating Grudge early.

Pressure (Main Damage Rotation)
  • 1. F1 - Grudging Blow: My basic builder to generate Grudge.
  • 2. F2 - Stone Breaker: Armor debuff and damage.
  • 3. F3 - Heavy Blow: Dot.
  • 4. F4 - Binding Grudge: My snare. Essential to keep enemies from running away.
  • 5. F5 - Rune-Etched Axe: (Armor Debuff) and Aoe dmage.
  • 6. F6 Vengefull Strike
That was my damage rotation. Now here are all the other abilities.
  • Alt F7 - Challenge
  • Alt F8 - Taunt
  • Q - Axe Toss
  • E - Grip of Stone
  • R - Away With Ye
  • T - Guarded Attack
  • F- Inspiring Attack
  • G- Deflect Oil
  • 1 - Sever Blessing
  • 2 - Juggernaut
  • 3 - Ancestor's Fury
  • 4 - Grudge Unleashed
  • 5- Stubborn As Stone
I currently use Q to G and 1 to 5 too rarely, am still very inexperienced, and am concentrating on my rotation. I'm also not entirely sure which of these are really important and when I need to use them. Some abilities are self-explanatory, while others are not.

Actually, I'm a fan of arranging everything sensibly according to purpose and use so that I can remember everything better. Everything that prepares for battle, everything that is the main rotation, everything that supports, and everything that saves my life and that of my Oath Friend.

My Questions:

Does this priority list work for solo/small-scale PvP at my rank?
Are there any essential Brags I am missing for 1v2 situations?
Should I focus more on the 'Vengeance' tree to increase my kill pressure?"

As a budding DD Irobreaker, could you give me some valuable tips, especially about rotation? I would really appreciate it!

From my expirience with rr82 IB after grand tank redesign is to save your time and roll anything else for DD. It feels like my SM or Kobs is better damage dealer now while having bigger impact for entire group rather than boosting only one oathfriend survivability.

For solo snb ib your rotation will be heavyblow, punishing blow, binding grudge, kd (these are optional) and oathstone when available and hope anyone stays and fights with you...and is not tracking oathstone. Basically everything but oathstone is optional and you eventually kill your target if they fall asleep on keyboard.

Even Knight is better than IB with 2 hander? Dont Knight do really low damage?

Knight actually got buffed semi recently. They are quite nasty now. 2h IB is kinda ok, but needs lot more effort to be even on par with other tanks in solo. With duo/group its completely different situation tho

Knight got buffs in one one of the patch and Myrimidia fury now hits pretty hard. Worst dps tanks are BG and IB.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your answers and tips on rotation. I'm sorry, but I have to admit that I've given up on this class. I'm now playing Witch Hunter and Squig Herder.

I'm relatively new and am trying out lots of classes. I'm really enjoying both of the ones I mentioned at the moment.

First is always Inspiring blow, for the STR buff/ heal de-buff . as it helps the rest land. ( on live the heal de-buff was none-removable because it was a tactic based skill, therefore no de-buff removal skill worked up it. ROR might not work the same, i never tested it. but this made it very strong to spend a tactic point on).
Heavy Blow is your best damaging style, but has to be used right. it does damage + a 3 sec dot. Every other hit should be heavy blow. The dot keeps ticking. then between heavy blows, you work on your buffs and de-buffs. like kneecap, a very powerful AF de-buff, Or the snare, which does a very heavy Dot damage. Personally i use the snare as higher priority. need to keep them in range. I put anything that uses grudges last on my sequence as grudges are very valuable at the start.
It takes while to get all your buffs up. but again, it takes awhile to get your grudge's up. but once your rotation is complete and grudges warmed up, then you do max damage.

IB is very hard class to play with out high end gear. you will feel very behind fighting for a long time. some classes you can never beat, Like WE or Chosen.
oddly IB with right build can destroy shamans, which is something they do not except ever.
