Return of Reckoning

Hi!

Has anybody ever tried to play Warhammer Online/ RoR on Linux?
(Please, don't answer "why not use Windows?!" : I have Windows+Ubuntu installed but would really like to get a 100% Ubuntu user.)
Actually testing it on Unbuntu 14.04 with Wine but the launcher doesn't launch anything...

I think you will never see war on ubuntu, use windows trust me

When the original server was online it worked very good with wine/playonlinux. Maby try PlayOnLinux?!

I doubt the Launcher will work but be my guest and give it a shot. You can cry after if you want.

War kinda used to work on wine. However, the launcher is different in RoR. You are on your own. This link could be useful. On top of my head the first thing I would try would be to install .net frmeworks via winetricks. It's been ages since I used wine though.

You might get it to work if you have enough knowledge and determination to solve every problem. Because there will be problems

Yes, I tried both of solutions (wine & Playonlinux)) with official client because I saw videos of people playing on it. But didn't manage to make it work well at home and then I did not insist much more...

Thanks for your link. That's what maked me think it could work on linux.
I've got determination, but not enough knowledge or it will take years and years...
Anyway, maybe i'll try with .net frameworks installed on wine.

I would really like to work on it, but as i said, i'm afraid i don't have enough knowledge so I would be useless.
Anyway, working on launcher to make it work on Windows is essential.
I'll inform you if I can make something work...

I can make a cross platform launcher for linux and mac. However, I would like to get a copy of the mac client first.
