Return of Reckoning

I cannot find a fix for this, googling it says this is the error you get when a 32 bit app tries to run as a 64 bit app.

I did a clean windows install bc I was having issues with this and other games. I seem to have resolved the other errors, but ive had this game installed on 3 different computers over the years including this one and Ive never seen this error.

I tried searching for the error using the forum search and got no results.

The only other issue im having right now is is I cannot reinstall directX, i get an error for that as well.

Ive run every bit of trouble shooting I can find and nothing is fixing this or the direct X problem which I only started investigating bc googling issues with RoR led me to believe it was a direct X issue.

Not sure if its related or matters, but this is the error log from direct x:

DirectXUpdateInstallPlugIn() failed.

grab a copy of 32bit d3dx9_34.dll and drop it into game folder and try again
your OS has issues with directx9c installation probably

I did that, and ran every other trouble shooting from the forum. Its reverted back to the launcher wont even open when I click the icon even if I try to run as admin.

I dont know why this started, or how it persisted through a clean windows install but sadly I think I cant play this.

one more thing you can try. try with DXVK ..aka translating dx9 to vulkan.

the tar.gz and extract it. drop the 32bit d3d9.dll into the RoR folder and give it a spin
