Return of Reckoning

Hello!

I am starting to play the game with WL as my co-player who is complete noob, but wants to learn the lore.

I myself played the game before a little (up to t3), so I know basic gameplay at least and was thinking on rolling tank character.
Which one of the Order tanks has the best self-sustain and solo potential to clear storylines? My co-player would be able to provide mediocre dps at best for now, so I was wondering if there is some consensus for such situation.

P.S. I do not mind rolling classes other than tanks if they have same potential for story clearing as long as they are on Order side.

Hmmm in ur situation i shud play WP or SM

Prob sm, he can give some amount of sustaine for whole group.

But WP is also an excellent suggestion, which I did not consider. If for some reason SM will not be suitable for me, I will definitely try WP out.

WP is perfect in PvE clearing, able to solo/duo almost everything

A tank that can do well in PVE either solo or in DUO, I would recomend either Kobs on reataliation build, or SM with regen/heaing tactics.
Kobs will be a bit more passive you just stand there and mobs kill yourself on you,
while SM is a bit more active role with 2 healing tactics and spaming 1 or 2 AOE skills for dmg.

My 80 WP can kill content my 80 SM can no longer do. Speaking about Gunbad center wing and previously left wing, minus end bosses it won't let you into the portal to fight end boss if solo.

I can kill the first boss in crypts with WP, though its less than 50/5- success rate. I know I did try with SM, but don't remember if I was ever successful or not.

Because of the spirit damage I would go SM if you want a tank.

Yeah, WP is obviously stronger then any tank. Surprising it can atm kill a boss in crypts

I started SM for now. I must admit it is disappointing first couple of levels, but I intend to get it to t2 to see how it is played with more skills available.
If it still turns out to be unsuitable for me, definitely trying WP next.

Early levels are going to suck for most none healing classes, key abilities in PVE farm will be Phoenix Wings, 2 x healing tactics regardless of 2H or SnB. At lvl 16 do the keg regen pocket quest in dwarf capital city( WL need it also).

If you stick with SM, then at at lvl 36 get grimmer shimmer ( huge life regen chest) which should be cheap at the AH after the last nerf.

P.S. As for SM vs WP, healing class is always going to be easier but, i will share with you a story, during the land of the dead event i managed to solo the last boss on my SM with a highly specialized SnB/Regen/absorb/block build( of course in BIS). I tried this with all my other BIS and a none BIS WP, none could do it, the boss was just hitting them too damned hard. . I did not see anyone else trying to solo it in fact, most wp/dok were running in duos( i saw a Dok/maras). I was quite proud of my SM at that moment.
