Current SW Builds/Gear

I haven't played my RR80+ SW for any amount of time other than to farm mats in a long long time. What's the current BiS gear/specs people like for different stuff? Kinda curious about dusting the old girl off.

Just to preface, I have a SW 65 and recently came back to the game, don't know the class history, but I think I've played it enough to give some advice. There are 2 playable builds right now, Scout and Skirmish - the first focused on dealing heavy damage to single targets, the second on doing short-range AoE damage with improved mobility. The recommended sets are different, depends on what you want to go for. What I saw from a guide aims for 7 Sovereign / 2 Triumph to access the +9% crit +12% crit dmg bonus, maybe better suited for Skirmish which can keep the bonus active more easily compared to Scout. My choice instead will be a combo of Warlord and Triumph to benefit from the range power bonuses. I've tried both builds and currently Scout is too situational, slow, static and very often in wb it's almost useless because between guards, absorbs, various mitigations, and the dynamic nature of fights you can't complete a rotation and you lose all its potential. Skirmish is more versatile instead, even though I find the range reduction is excessive and inevitably exposes you to being grabbed constantly or ending up in enemy aoes. Plus Skirmish only performs after stacking its DoTs and requires using offensive tactics that make you even more fragile, otherwise your damage becomes easily compensated (I'm talking about Bullseye) or it requires you to get within 45 feet (No Respite). Let's say my experience with SW is pretty frustrating even though the class has great potential and in some moments it's really fun. Currently I'm implementing Guerrilla Training into my playstyle to improve mobility, but I think there's still a pretty big gap to close with mirror classes (SH first and foremost) and other dps classes in general. SW isn't an easy class to play, but right now the improvement in playing it isn't supported by mechanics that let you perform better.
I'm not talking about the Assault build because it doesn't perform in either pve or wb.

I didn't play the class for almost 3 years outside of mat farming, and I took a good break while playing Dune. Now I'm back and thinking about playing it more. I know the basic two (scout and skirm) I just don't know the details of the specific spec/rotations for each and the granular level of gear to get.

SW builds are far from straighforward and changes/depends ALOT with what your gear is compared to other dps classes

when was the last time you played? if you caught the BHA stack nerf, then SW has been pretty much the same since.

all the major changes so far, barring a few, have been for tanks and healers. dps changes are yet to come.
