City should be redesigned

We got an City with really worth setup, no 4 healers, a lot (really a lot) of WH. Not complaining about this, it's what you get when queing solo.
First inc was pretty good, we nearly wiped them but without aoe pressure keeping enemys down and destroy cannons was not possible. Second inc was not that good but also in a funnel, so not good starting point, we lost, people left, rest died through three steps to get a little bit of crests and more important, not get quitter.
This can't be the way city should be, 3 or 4 cowards leaving and the rest is doomed to run around 30 minutest to not get punished?
Shall we start to discuss more enjoyable mechanics and systems? Please don't start matchmaking complaints here, if there is nothing to match no matchmaking system on the world will be good enough

The big reason to que for city and make grps was when city was the only way to get currency to buy Sov gear. When this was changed there was no longer a reason to invest in city gameplay. Ppl quit after one wipe. Iiwii, sadly

When city was removed from the campaign, and Sovereign gear became purchasable without doing city, city became just a waste of time. It doesn't even grant enough war crests to be worth the time investment and headache.

As long as devs do not put a carrot on certain content people will just refuse to do it.
Like i.e. 1 insignia for 1 city win or 10 blood linis.

This is it, in top of that a city scenario is not fun I want my old cities back, everyone on the same map as it should be!

Cities should go back to campaign and rewards should be increased. Cities are the culmination of the campaign (or rather it should be) and as such should provide the greatest reward. Goldbags should have sov/wl piece in them for instance. Most content is better when players actually apply themselves and try to win.

Fixed schedule of City is also a problem, you have to be able to play either early evening or very early morning (EU / Server time) to join a City battle. For example, in 2 years gametime I saw only 1 City starting and a few in progress. Never could join a single City.

Only because it was the only place to get Sov doesn't mean that it was better. If you had to eat dirt to get money, the dirt wouldn't taste better. The goal should be to have entertaining, fun, and balanced content, to eat cake instead of dirt.
To discuss more enjoyable mechanics is the absolut right way to change something.
To slap some rewards on the momentary system and force people into playing content that they obviously don't enjoy doesn't seem to do the trick.
Edit: Cities aren't really dirt. It's only a bit harsh-sounding metaphor. I myself had some really fun times in cities.
But maybe 1 out of 10. I was one of those people that grinded cities at 3 a.m. to get Sov, and I'm not proud of it.
The most fun fights are those where the winner isn't decided after 5 minutes. Some stronger comeback- mechanisms are desperately needed.

Small reminder that there are some planned City changes already announced in the August 2023 Developer Update:
