What is going on with this? Literally just stealing character names from people who have played this project for years. Absolutely disgraceful. Are the rest of my character names safe or are you planning on stealing them as well???????????? Simple question so I can delete this app or not

Names of characters that haven't logged in for an extended period of time are "released" back to the pool of available names for new characters. It appears your character "Ritualist" is one such name.

Yeah that's BS I have other characters that I don't actually play that haven't had this issue. Literally level 5-10s. It was theft period.

Otherwise the rest of these alts would all be having the same issue, being I never actually play them.

The other names were not taken because no one else attempted to create a character with their names. "Ritualist" isn't too uncommon of a word, and someone selected it as a new character name. Not much more complex than that.

Someone stole my name too and it shows on the killboard that he hasnt made a kill in 1.5 years. Before that time he got kills very regularly. So i tried many times to create a new character of my own and to take back my name from this inactive player of over a year. And it says "you have entered a duplicate or invalid name. please enter a new name." Its like the name is locked to that player and i can not use it no matter how long they remain offline.

If the name remains that means theyre logging on the toon. You lose the name only if you dont log on the character for 1 year (I think that's the duration)

1 year of inactivity is correct, yes.

There are 3 renamed Ritualist characters there. Your character has an ID of 1992323 (7 digits) and there is there is another with an ID of 393714 (6 digits), so chances are you actually "stole" the name from someone else as they had not logged into that character in over a year. There is also a Ritualist with ID 2374033 who might be the person who stole it from you, and then they lost the name as the current Ritualist has a character ID of 2567893. Higher ID = newer character.

There could also have been other Ritualist owners who have since logged in, seen they lost the name and so they changed the name of the character to something else.

Did you think you were the first person to come up with the name Ritualist? All the good generic names have been gone for years

I lost the name Guts I have deff logged in more than once a year on that char.
