Black screen fresh installation

Hello everyone,

I just reinstalled the game and it just shows ui on startup everything else is just black the game closes when i enter world.
I installed via direct download and torrent i also followed the steps on the megathread.
and i changed the game to windowed.

From the description it sounds like its not fully patched for some reason.. possibly some weird directory permission issues or similar.
could ofc be something entirely else ofc

Is that happening only with this character and after its trying to load into the game world it throws you back to that screen?
can you get in with other characters if you have?
If you have other characters contact a GM ingame by pressing H and GM Appeals > Character Issues.
request stuck character teleport and give the stuck character name also.

I think the Character is just stuck in limbo world and needs to get teleported.

edit: Or if you have discord, then check the link on my signature and join RoR Discord. Can ask a GM directly to get your char teleported

edit2: there will be server restart soon so that should also fix the stuck character issue. Unless its some other problem still ofc.

I cannot see my other characters since everything is black if i press create i get to this page but still no graphics https://imgur.com/4nHITcq
When i press play it just boots me back to the launcher.

Hmm that is strange... try reading the directory rights part in here:

do that again and then try selecting repair from launcher gog wheel

yeah i tried but didnt change anything the repair button also doesnt work. so strange...

Honestly im running out of ideas.. One more weird thing we can try maybe.

If your GPU and drivers are fairly new and up to date:

We can download DXVK from: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v2.3

dxvk-2.3.tar.gz

extract/unpack it. And copy the d3d9.dll file from the x32 folder to your RoR folder.

Try to launch again
This basically translates DirectX9 to Vulkan.

if that doesnt work either, then honestly im out of ideas whats wrong with the game for you.
