Which 2H builds are considered viable atm? Mastery tacts, morales and gear?

I'm in my mid 30's and i'm quite lost in terms of how to continue when I eventually hit r40.

Always Stay Focused!, To Glory! and Gather Your Resolve!

Gather Your Resolve is the normal 3rd pick, but you can sometimes switch it for Stand Strong, depending on

* If you have a resist buff from another source
* Your party doesn't use magic dps
* The enemy party doesn't use a lot of magic dps

Also, get the sword Dawn as soon as possible from the quest "Unmasking the Enemy" once you reach 38, it's the best sword for a long time.

It has reactionary proc which gives the kobs much needed defense proc (parry, evade, disrupt) With how quickly you can get dungeons done these days it may be worth just waiting for Nightless which has the same proc + a dmg proc as well.

Don't be afraid to buck the conventional builds and wisdom to experiment a bit. It also really depends on what you are doing with your playtime. Is it solo? Small man? Warband RvR? You can do all those things well with a 2-hander, and some of them you can do excellent. If you completely ignore PvE, I have found only a handful of situations where you need the shield for PvP, and that is mostly around building morale with Hold The Line.
