Ranked Season 6 is currently scheduled to start on 29th August. Would it be possible to get confirmation that the new season will start as planned? I don’t want to book time off work if it’s likely new season will be postponed again.

It will likely be postponed a little bit from currently scheduled date.

Unsure why could have had it start earlier so those doing group ranked could get rewards, might have encouraged a few more teams to q.

Initial ability rework patch need to be tested and go live. When everything works as intended new season can launch shortly after.

It is what it is.
However such approach has incredibly flawed and broken logic behind it, nor it reaches any sane goals. Taking into account insane amount of work ability system actually took i believe it was bad decision to postpone ranked seasons. Kar&Bambi did damn great job reviving the thing with roster pick up groups, schedules and set-up rules for group compositions, if devs copy such approach it would make the stuff way better then it ever was.

No need for solo q to be active anytime. Schedule is way better with sign ups beforehand with preset compositions to fill with randomized players.
