if you had only one choice, which tank would you choose and why? the question is valid for order and destro.

KOTBS: Easy to play and usefull in all content. 2h is the worst tank in game
Choseh: Same to KOTBS, but best 2h tank in game

SM: Very usefull with WW build.
BO: Similar to SM, but harder to kill. But no WW.

IB: Very funny and hard to play tank. Worst punt in game
Black Guard: Similar to IB, but with the best punt in game and better 2h build.

As you can see, all destro tanks are better and more easy to play. But order are the coolest faction in game

KOTBS - played it for 12 years why not forever.

Have you played any of those destro tanks?
I would argue 2h kotbs is far better than Chosen due to aoe slow.
SM is miles ahead if black ork, in snb and 2h.

BG punt is better, IB is still longer range than SNB SM. Both excel with 2H, IB buffs BG debuffs. What makes BG superior?

Geez...the initial answer to the OP question is and always has been: test and then play whichever of those tank classes you most enjoy in the manner and spec you most enjoy playing it.

In my opinion: SM is the most fun to play of all those classes, although Chosen can provide rewarding play as well. S&B Iron Breakers are basically mobile bricks and Black Orcs look big but are dumb and stupid. Black Guards are just the kid who tried to steal your girlfriend in the Eighth Grade while Knights are the guy you would never want to show up at your party. I mean, like, an actual party, not a roaming SC mob. Knights have good group utility but are just kinda, you know, boring.

And yes, I have played all of those classes oh Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz.

They're all so good... how could you choose only one? xD

I'm torn between BG for style points and intimidation factor, SM for being fun to play and looking pretty cool also, and BO for being very iconic.
