[Magus] Close Range Survivability

As a magus that is trying to take advantage of Daemonic Contract (extra 15% damage when with 45 ft of the target), would it be better to invest in armor or toughness? Is there a particular goal to aim for in terms of balancing armor, toughness, and wounds?

I still stand by that toughness stacking magus/sham are the best solo specs in the game, really only drawback is their damage is backloaded so people have to make the decision to engage with you rather than you engage.
RoR.builders - Magus
Go for a hybrid build with a decent amount of int and crit, but incorporate FS and regen. Run armor pot and toughness/lini pot.
Only thing that can really beat you is a wh but once they pop shroud demonic infestation and kite it out you should win.
