What’s a fun solo class?

Doesn’t necessarily have to be the best, just fun. I started the game a few days ago and have been having trouble figuring out what I want to play.
I’ve tried Black Orc and gotten to level 10 through PvE (because I’m playing because of the lore and setting more than the PvP gameplay) but what is expected of a Tank to do sounds a bit daunting and if I ever feel like PvP I don’t want to be useless.
If there are any fun/unique builds for classes for just running around I’d love to hear them. Most of the stuff I found on the forums through Google were a few years old or didn’t make much sense to my newbie brain.

About fun, it's more a matter of what gameplay suits you best ; some classes can be "boring" to most people, got simple class mechanics or just lack some tools to make the class "fun" to play with. Some got more tools but are less capable in some departments ; every class is unique, and amongst the variety of builds you will eventually find one that fit your playstyle.
1. If you aim for solo PvE as main content, DPS Warrior Priest / Disciple of Khaine are the best for soloing PQs, because they are totally self-sufficent, dealing damage and healing themselves when needed, allowing you to solo kill heroes that are totally unbeatable with any other class.
However, those 2 archetypes are somehow limited when it comes to PvP ; you will have some success playing in small scale with other friends, but in general DPS healers are not cery welcome in groups/warbands, where they are lacking their expected support role, and in a game already saturated by DPS classes.
2. Every tank can be fun to play in PvE, but solo gameplay is less fulfilling, since their main role is to protect another friend. Most tanks also lack AoE damage, is you want to quickly end PQs it's not especially the best choice (and some tanks like the Knight will lack defensive options if you aim to play it with a 2 handed weapon).
However tank classes are very welcome in any PvP aspect of the game, provided you know the basics (guard swap, challenge and crowd control effects)
3. Finally, for PvE you also can choose a dps, preferably capable when it comes to AoE skills ; Slayer/Choppa are naturally fitted for this role, but SW/Ingenier/Magus are classes that can be efficient as well, since they got with many AoE options, and self-healing (except Magus wich is more a tank). WH/WE are an option, but they lack some AoE, since they are more aimed to single target burst ; however they also come with self-healing abilities (in mastery tree).
Be aware that PvP is crowded by DPS, especially rdps (Order side, while Destru side, it's more crowded with tanks and melee dps), and you will probably not always find a spot in any organized group or warband.

I have to disagree here, tanks like Chosen/Knight can pull entire groups of mobs in PQs ending them fast ( BO got aoe options as well... although not as efficient ). The fastest for farming is likely a geared Engineer pulling from range and killing huge packs of mobs, able to kite and destroy heroes that can't be tanked.

My favorite solo classes are in order: Engs/Magus and BW/Sorc and any healer.
I would not recommend BW/Sorc because you will die a lot, but they are still a hell of a lot of fun once you learn how to solo them correctly.
