Is there any gold sink in the game other than buying crafting materials (or does that use the special currencies)? I remember it used to cost I think 5gold to respec. Does the economy not get out of control without a way to remove gold from the game? I suppose there are healers too.
Apologies if these are daft questions, I'm new to RoR, played the original release a bit.

Most of that gold goes back into the economy.
Gold sinks are things that drain gold from the economy.

At least it drains your own gold but yes, you are right, it's no true drain.

Crafting is so simple and useful BOE items are so few that gold isn't that important. Just make sure your first character is cultivator and apothecary, craft healing pots and once you have a stack of blue for your self sell the rest. If you play alot you will make a minimum of 100 gold a week on this alone as the market for healing pots strangely seem to never end.
