Spreading the battlefield will change absolutely nothing when it comes to zerg just rolfstomping zones by sheer numbers. If anything having more numbers will be even more beneficial and zones will become even more one sided.
Until devs start thinking "what can we do to incentivize players that are about to either face a onesided defeat or give up" or "how do we make outnumbering a small enemy, less beneficial for rewards", nothing will change.
I have a detailed suggestion I will formulate in a separate post.
