New player having trouble downloading

I followed the guide to download but when I go to launch the game from the launcher I see a pop up telling me the game is launching. After this I get sent right back to the launcher. Any ideas what causing it or how to fix?

did you install the directx9 that comes with the torrent also?
might be you missed that

I've done it twice now and it hasn't changed anything
