Return of Reckoning

Hi so I've downloaded the game three times and have, to the best of my knowledge, followed the directions to a T. When it finally comes time to click "Connect", however, I do so and get stuck with what you see in the screen shots.

Each download has been on Windows 10 via Parallels for Mac.

The Shield and Hammer and Axe screen are permanently locked once they come up and cannot be moved or removed unless I completely delete windows and do a full reinstall.

I would include all of the error message you see there but each time this happens, I'm unable to scroll through it, enlarge the window, etc., as it's completely frozen.

Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated as I'm really looking forward to returning to this game after many years away. Thanks!

according to your first pic with the error means, that something is already using your game. Check your Taskmanager and close your torrent, maybe restart pc... additionally, here is the guide to install.

How to Download:
- Recommend Torrent Tixati: http://www.tixati.com
- First step, disable your Antivirus, Firewall, or Malware detection programs. These can potentially interfere with an install.
- Download torrent file: https://www.returnofreckoning.com/files ... 20.torrent
- Run the Torrent file, with the Torrent app, and wait until it's finishes.

How to Install:
- Stop your Torrent from seeding (close it, maybe check your task manager)
- Move the RoR Folder to c:\ (or atleast it's NOT in c:\program or a folder which it wont have write access. For instance move it to c:\Games\Return of Reckoning)
- delete the RoRLauncher.exe
- download a new one here: http://launcher.returnofreckoning.com/RoRLauncher.exe
- put the new RoRLauncher.exe back into the RoR-folder
- Remove the write-protection from all the files in the WAR folder. (right click the game folder -> properties -> disable the read-only box)
- Check if your whole RoR Folder is whitelisted in your Antivirus program and check if your Firewall or Maleware doesn't interfere with the install.
- You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges. (Right click the RoR updater > properties > run administrator)
- Run the RoRLauncher.exe
- Let it update (sometimes it needs a few seconds until it starts)
- Exit launcher and rerun it again
- Repeat the last 2-steps until there is no update
- Launch the game
- [If you don't have DirectX 9.0c, installed it is required, and now this is also included in the torrent. In the ReturnOfReckoning-March2020 folder find the dx90c folder, open that and run DXSETUP.exe]

Many thanks for the quick reply, Lilim! That's great to know but admittedly leaves me even more flummoxed. Tixati was completely closed out each time but I'll check the Taskmanager next time I reinstall Windows to see if something else comes up. Thanks, again!

Wondering if anyone knows if the fact that I'm running it on Parallels (software that allows me to run Windows simultaneously with a Mac OS) might be the problem. As Lilim said, might the Error message be telling me that, because the WAR files are also accessible on the Mac OS, the game is getting confused and thinking that something else is running the game at the same time that Windows is running it?
