Return of Reckoning

So everytime I boot up the launcher it has to download 172 THOUSAND files. Everytime. I followed the install guide to the letter and I have been waiting on this for 5 days now. It's on 70,000 out of the 170 thousand and its really trying my patience. So I decided to exit out of the launcher and see if it was a one time thing, it restarted the download. Any way of fixing this? It happens in the launcher, screenshot below

Check you removed write protection off all game files and subdirectories

Run your launcher from where the game files are extracted... do not move the launcher to day your desktop (you'll need to create a shortcut for example)
