Go to "Virus and threat protection" in your system settings and go to protection history. Then go to the alert that is triggering and hit "restore", this fixed the issue for me.
Windows is detecting a trojan in the launcher for some reason.

I can see that trojan error and the quarantined thing in Windows Defender but restoring it and allowing it did nothing for me at all. Now my launcher is gone.
SOmething needs to be done about this.

It's a user error. Find a way to whitelist the Launcher and log in to the game.

The launcher was deleted and windows defender won't allow it. And it's not user error that the software appears to have a trojan in it to windows. I didn't do that.

You didn't, your anti-virus did - which is why in the Installation Guide, we tell you to whitelist your files before you run, to stop this from happening.
Spoiler:
Notes about Antivirus programs, Firewalls, Hardware Routers, and other security programs
Spoiler:
Some of these can be more aggressive than others, and in particular the RORLauncher has been flagged in the past. Partially because this is not a well known application in the wild, and partially because of how it works.
The Launcher manipulates objects in memory to make the game work with our server.
Some aggressive antiviruses automatically deem this to be virus-like behavior.
They check with their database of approved applications when they see this, and if they don't find our application in there, it gets a Generic flag and is sometimes blocked or damaged.
Because of this, we have to recommend that when you download with the Torrent, that you have your security disabled, and then whitelist the folder before turning it all back on.
We have repeatedly reached out to many AV companies and databases, all of which who responded accepted it as clean, and many others simply never responded leaving it with that Generic tag.
As you can see here VirusTotal which is a very common database, is showing the launcher as clean in the vast majority of AV's. However, old definitions even from a company that doesn't have us flagged, can still cause problems.
TL;DR - The RORLauncher is safe. The torrent is safe. Please disable your AV BEFORE downloading, and whitelist the folder BEFORE turning it back on to prevent any potential issues.

Some of us do not have the admin rights to whitelist folders or files.

Then I'd suggest speaking to your computer Administrator and explaining what's listed in the Installation Guide. We have no control over how over-zealous some AV companies are with their flags. As per the Installation Guide.
If you are able to add whitelists to WD (i.e. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-excl ... irus-scans), or anything that will allow you to bypass it, then go ahead and try that. Otherwise, you'll need to speak to the sys admin.
Edit: Sniped a helpful link from war.

I assumed the group policy would exclude changing the registry. I was wrong. I have a "local" admin account so I used it to add the path to this registry key:
