Good day,

I am having an issue with Windows10 thinking I'm downloading a virus whenever I try to run the RoRUpdater post-installation.

I've followed all of the instructions:

RoRUpdater is running as admin

the entire Warhammer Online directory is not in read-only mode

the torrent application is closed

I don't have anti-virus software running

added the RoRUpdater to the white-list in the Windows10 firewall

Despite all of that I get this error message when I run RoRUpdater:

Code: Select all

Error Downloading updater:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software
   at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo)
   at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
   at RoRUpdater.MainWindow.gy3MwXQNt3w1CDbjGc(Object )
   at RoRUpdater.MainWindow.tYB114Sxk(Object  , DownloadDataCompletedEventArgs  )

Any advice? I searched the forum and couldn't find a post about this issue.

you may not know it but windows has an antivirus running in the background by default.
you can disable it by following those steps

i had the same error as you and disabling it "fixed" the problem.

Obviously this is not a good long term solution , whitelisting the files and folder would be a better solution but haven't looked into it yet. or even better the ROR team should sign their files or something.
