Return of Reckoning

Hi,

This is my first time trying to play the game and I've followed the instructions found here and in the README file. However, when I launch via RoRLauncher.exe and the launcher opens, I'm prompted to enter my forum login details and click Update.
When I do this a loading bar will move from 0% to 100% and the launcher closes. My cursor shows something is processing for a second then nothing happens and there's no error message.

So far I have:

• Restarted my PC
• Tried manually running the RoRUpdater.exe
• Set both launcher and updater to run as admin.
• Unblocked the launcher.
• Removed read-only from the whole game folder and subfolders.

I am having this same issue. I click "Update" and it downloads something then closes the launcher. I restart the launcher and all I can do is hit "update" again.

I have not changed any setting on my game or PC. First time I have tried to login in several days (4+)

Try running the RORUpdater, that's what I needed to do when I had the same problem.

That's one of the things I've listed as something I've tried already.

I've been having this identical problem. Tried each of the things listed by OP as well before coming here to check if anyone else has had this issue. A little relieved to see it's not just me, but still unfortunately leaves the issue unresolved for each of us.

I have the exact same problem, first time trying to run it on new windows 10 PC.
(I previously played on my older win7 PC just fine)

Found it.. its windows defender blocking the update. Green flag it where the ror folder is.

My Windows Defender seems to be inactivated, as I have Kaspersky installed instead.
I have whitelisted the entire folder though, and it still doesn't work.

I noticed something else though, this whole time the Login-Server is Yellow, even though I think the server has been online the entire time (according to the forum thread).
Could this have something to do with it, I can't connect to the login server? Anyone know how I can solve this?

This still looks like potential AV or firewall filter interfering to me.

Double check that all Kaspersky and AV products are disabled, just for testing and retry. Occasionally, Kaspersky will install its web security suite separate from AV that can break this too.
