He may be advocating the "one coin of the realm" ideal, where everything as you advanced would cost the same type of coin just in greater and greater amounts.

Yes pls. I managed doing one fortress and one city raid the last two weeks as casual. 80% of the content is/can be done afk or at least brain afk... let the endgame be content you have to work for. Although an option to trade crests in for invader could be a good idea.
