Return of Reckoning

Hey all!

Im a newcomer to the game and I'm REALLY enjoying the Shaman class, however I'm getting rather mixed reviews on what I should be doing as a class.
I primarily want to focus on healing, and supp some damage with some dots here and there. But my goal is to heal.

So far as I'm leveling I have a healthy mix of INT and Will, currently lvl32/RR24 361 INT & 287 WIL.
I've been told to focus on getting INT based gear and forget about scaling WIL untill im lvl 40, which is where I am confused.

Why should I not get WIL gear? Isn't healing based off of WIL?

When you want to focus on healing, remove all the gear with intel.
Some items have both, those are considered bad items.
The class mechanic doesn't work properly, when you alternate heal and damage spells, you will be bad at both.
