Return of Reckoning

So I just started playing a runesmith and completed some quests and should've gotten some loot but I can't seem to open my inventory, which I suppose is called "backpack". Is it a bug or do you have to actually purchase a backpack first or something like that?

NVM, by exiting the game and reloading it the issue has been resolved.
