Return of Reckoning

Was solo 1v1 against a 40/20 Shadow Warrior on my Magus 40/66.

I have 3200 armor roughly, 300 initiative and RR spent on reduced crit chance, 460 toughness, had my blue AOE pet out, had a regen potion on.He was about to die, just a couple more second of DoT ticking, and then I just instantly fell over dead. 9240 wounds with Aegis on.

I'm totally shocked and don't understand why.

Then I check my combat log and see this:

This SW is in green jewelry, sub par equipment after I looked them up. THey had no help and heals, literally nobody else around them.

This is balanced? I don't mind dying. I don't mind a fair fight. This is the way...

But 3676 non-crit damage against my stats?.....From someone in green sentinel jewelry and low level armor and weapons?

were you near a warcamp?

festering arrow deals corporeal damage by the way, so your armor value does not matter, and if he ran the Enchanted Arrows tactic your resist get ignored + vengeance of nagarythe up I bet.

Right... but I'm a magus and had my corporeal resist buff up, plus I was toughness and crit resist potted:

This was a NON crit for 3676 damage.

You were probably too close to a wc which order players have a huge damage bonus.

This was a NON crit for 3676 damage.

If you fight near a warcamp the damage gets buffed for the opponent.

Your corporeal resist buff does not matter with the Enchanted Arrows tactic.

Your crit resist seems to have worked, since it didnt crit.

So looks like: Enchanted Arrows, Vengeance of Nagarythe up, Fighting near a Warcamp = gg

I guess that was it, then. We were between a warcamp and a BO on the road....didn't seem like he was close enough to get that buff: How far out does that extend anyway? Also, I didn't know it gave you THAT much of a damage bonus...

Yeah it gives insane damage bonus, I had a Raze hit for 3k each tick once. Think it was introduced during the torque era to stop ppl from ganking right at the warcamp!?

Which map was it btw?

That's definitely a warcamp buff given that it's not a crit.

wouldnt the flame arrow tick/AA be huge too if it wc buff?

Maybe the buff only triggered when the FA hit, since there is no timestamps could be a million different scenarios.
