Return of Reckoning

For the life of me I still can't figure out what I want to play and a lot of it is I have no idea how things play at max level. Was leaning towards something that can do ranged and melee or something to just bash/annihilate people.

Judging by what you said you want a Squig herder- able to bash/annihilate and can do ranged and melee. While this is a solid option it often gets preyed upon by the very potent order class WL, so either run in a group or accept death from the class made to slay goblins with finesse.

With that being said I'll always recommend marauder to new players. Why? Marauder is arguably Destros best class. I have never heard anyone ever complain about getting a marauder in their group, making/playing a marauder, or the ability of a marauder to be viable in almost all forms of warhammer play.

How do I know youre playing Destruction? Ha-ha-ha! You'd be a fool not to! Key words being Bash/Annihilate! Order does not bash or annihilate they whimper and retreat! But with that being said Shadow warrior fits the bill for you as well. Ranged, Melee, and no pesky class on Destro that specializes in killing you. Sure any class can kill you but no one is fine tailored to kill a shadow warrior, except a marauder? Arguable.

And if you still can't decide, pick something you really enjoy the aesthetic of because at the end of all that combat what really matters is how bad-ass your Black Orc looks!

White Lion is what I mained on live but they are very numerous here. Shadow warrior I was thinking about because they can ranged until needing to melee, managing the squigs with a squig herder can get kind of tedious. I tend to prefer melee but I have trust issues when it comes to people healing/supporting me.

i wouldn't shy away from your preferred class just because it seems numerous. order in general is numerous. if you want to play a wl, roll a wl, just be aware that both WL and SW are kinda crappy in wb vs wb whilst being borderline broken in smallscale. sort of a theme with elf classes

you will not get reliable heals or support as melee if you do not plan on running with an organised group, but neither will your enemy. if you want to kill people, you go BW/sorc and deal with the self dmg, magus/engi and deal with the turret, choppa/slayer and deal with the glassyness or wl and deal with the buggy pet. marauder doesn't really have a downside, but destro in general has weaker open wbs and is far more difficult to play without friends

accept the weaknesses of your class and work around them. sh/sw have crap ranged dmg i wouldn't consider them for solo, you will kill nothing
