As in someone who actually plays tank magus (LLell).

Your main stat is toughness, the goal is getting to 900. As such, your first priority is maxing renown toughness. Ignore the Futile Strikes/ ren init- considering how the dmg calculations work, with high enough toughness you don't need them- 15% to be crit or so on LLell, and I killed for example every single wl which tried to 1v1 me.

Your will be using Gleam/Pand in mass rvr / your major source of dmg will be flamer shortening dots ticks/ your main single target spam nuke is Rend, so Changing is your secondary tree- Havoc is only worth it for a glass cannon sniper spec.

Insta daemon tactic very much over Close Quarters- your weakness is your mobility, insta daemon helps alot with overcoming it. And your dots are mostly instacast, while when being in melee range what you spam is Maw/Lash- so again, no use out of Close Quarters.
