Return of Reckoning

On Windows 7.Unchecked Read Only, running as Admin, allowed exceptions through Windows Firewall and Defender.

My first problem was the launcher would not launch. That was fixed by using the unpacked Launcher in the stickied post.
Now the launcher will load and there will be a red Update button. I can click that, it will go to 100% quickly, and then the launcher will close. RoRUpdater.exe is running on Task Manager but is using 0% CPU. If I try loading it again, I get this error:

Running RoRUpdater by itself does not work either. Any help would be appreciated.

The RoRUpdater.exe file is used by the launcher, you can't run it directly. You should be running RoRLauncher as admin from the same folder as WAR.exe. Make sure you remove read-only from the Return of Reckoning folder and select all files (it will still have a box partially filled after, this is normal).

Everything on our end seems to be running normally.

Oh, if you downloaded via the torrent, make sure the torrent is stopped. That will block those files from being accessed.

I have a new computer so i had to install the game again. worked fine. than the game crashed and now i always see only my equip running around. The char is invisible! i`ve done the hole proccess several times since then. Always samee issue. also, there is no PoPUpdater in the folder. So i cant try to update.
PLS HELP!

try running repair from launcher. if that doesn't help then check if you did everything correct.


How to Install:

+ Stop your Torrent from seeding (close it, maybe check your task manager)

+ Move the Warhammer Online - Return of Reckoning outside the ReturnofReckoning-March2020 folder and move it to c:\ ... for instance move it to c:\Games
(but **NOT** inside c:\ Program Files or c:\ Program Files (x86); it should be in a folder which it have write access)

+ Remove the write-protection from all the files in the Warhammer Online - Return of Reckoning folder.
(right click on the War Online - RoR folder > properties > disable the read-only box)

+ Check that your whole Warhammer Online - Return of Reckoning folder is whitelisted in your Antivirus program and check if your Firewall or Maleware doesn't interfere with the install.

+ You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges.
(Right click on the RoRLauncher.exe > properties > run administrator)

+ Run the RoRLauncher.exe
+ Let it update (sometimes it needs a few seconds until it starts)
+ Exit launcher and rerun it again
+ Repeat the last 2-steps until there is no update left
+ Launch the game

!!! [If you don't have DirectX 9.0c, installed it is required, and now this is also included in the torrent. In the ReturnOfReckoning-March2020 folder find the dx90c folder, open that and run DXSETUP.exe]

thx 4 the quick answer. tried the repair function and i've done the hole process several times. does not work. is it normal that there is no RoRUpdater in the folder? what can i try next? running out of ideas
