Install help please

Hello all! I'm a big fan of this game and super happy to have found this place!
My problem is could somebody please explain, simply and in order, what I need to install? I've read the stickies and it doesn't make sense to me. I'm currently installing the game client but I get confused when you have to start removing folder files and modifying things in order to get the game to run. I have no idea about "seeds" or the torent either, do I need that too?? I installed P99(Everquest private server) and had a hell of a time getting that to run so this is all kinda crazy to me.
I'm using Windows 10 which in itself is a bit confusing compared to when I played this game when it was live on Windows XP.
I just want to get ingame and start banging some heads with my big stick!
